Welcome to RDM Wildbunch Whitetails, home of RDM Goliath, one of the world’s highest scoring buck at 410 6/8 B & C and 429 6/8 SCI with 78 points. He truly was an amazing deer.
Our name RDM comes from Rod and Dianne Miller and the Wildbunch comes from the cowboy era. We have been raising deer since the early 90s when it was just a hobby. Our goal is to produce the biggest whitetails we can by researching the great genetics available and using artificial insemination on our own proven whitetail does. You can see the results in our trophy whitetail breeder bucks. We are still a small family owned deer farm, breeding between 20 and 25 does per year and bottle feeding all of our babies. This is one thing unique to RDM Wildbunch and the other is that we use a dog to work the mature bucks.
Bottle feeding all of our fawns, both bucks and does keeps our whole herd tame and reduces stress when animals are handled. A tame herd is much easier to monitor, move, separate and put through the handling facility. The bucks handle semen collection better when they are tame, needing less tranquilizer to immobilize and less time to recover after reversal. We have not found tame bucks to be a problem when they go to our hunting ranch. When turned out in a big area and are not around people, they quickly revert back to wild behavior.
We use the dog to work the mature bucks in hard antler. We have used a heeler or the Australian Cattle Dog for over 15 years and have never had a deer hurt or injured. The dog makes it safe for anyone taking care of the bucks at any time of the year.
We offer many services to the deer industry. We have for sale semen from a large number of bucks all born and bred on our farm. The semen has been collected by Dr. Mike Brikkens and Dr. Dennis Gourley. We only sell high quality semen in ½ cc straws. We usually have some deer for sale including bred or open does and bottle fed buck and doe fawns. Some breeder bucks are available in late summer after they are done growing out. All of our doe herd is DNA’ed and most go back many generations so you know exactly what kind of an animal you are getting. Our CWD date is February, 2002 and we are certified and accredited for TB and Brucellocis. We also have a hunting ranch which we stock with our own animals, thereby giving the hunter a higher quality animal when you are not mixing animals from different farms.
We are located 4 miles off exit 53 on I 80 and welcome visitors. We are
always ready to visit and talk deer.
Visitors are welcome to stop by and see our deer handling facility, see trophy whitetail bucks up close and personal, or just talk deer with us. And we always enjoy sharing our farm with others interested in the deer industry.
